Self-Care Day Ideas
If you’re long overdue for a self-care day, we have a few inspiration ideas to get your self-care activity list kicked off! The concept is that you’re doing it for yourself, it’s something you enjoy and makes you feel better, be it physically, emotionally, or mentally.
The good thing about having a self-care day is that it can be varied, and you can tailor it to whatever Suitsyou and your needs. Here at Suitsme, we embrace individuality, whether it be with our clients or team members; so here are a few different self-care day ideas that can kick you off to a great start:
- Meditation/breathing exercises
This is perfect if you’re on the go, or a bit busier than usual. This can take as much or as little of your time as you want; you can even do this throughout your day whenever you feel overwhelmed or if you need a break. All you need is a quiet and/or calm space where you won’t be interrupted or feel distracted.
Then the rest is up to you. There are a lot of ways you can meditate; there are tons of videos online that can help you through guided meditations and breathing exercises, otherwise there are also plenty of free meditation apps available.
- At home spa day/skincare
Why not have a spa day at home? Hydrating face masks, at-home manicures and pedicures, moisturisers, maybe try out that new serum you’ve bought but haven’t touched. If you’ve been putting off that bath bomb you’ve been trying to save, this one might just be the one for you.
Whatever Suitsyou and makes you feel pampered. There are many ways you can do it, here’s a quick YouTube video to give you an idea, but there’s a lot of great resources online you can inspiration from for your spa/skincare day.
- Movie marathon
What a better way to kick-start your self-care day with a movie marathon! Grab your favourite snacks and drinks and settle down to re-watch some of your favourite films, or if you’re feeling adventurous, even watch new ones.
Have you ever watched the entire Harry Potter series from start to finish? We heard the whole thing is on Netflix – so grab your popcorn and get comfortable
- Listen to some music
When was the last time you really updated your playlist, or even listened to a new music genre? If you’re a music fanatic, this may be a good way to spend your self-care day. From country music to hip-hop, find new songs and even rediscover old ones.
Some great platforms are Spotify, Apple Music, and Soundcloud. They even have podcasts as well so you can check out some of the ones, we mentioned from our previous blog posts!
- Do something creative
Spend your down time with some paint, canvas, and a brush. There are many creative outlets you can venture into; music, sewing, poetry, the list is endless. You could even perhaps join local art classes, pottery lessons, a local poetry slam, do a vocal lesson, or even as simple as visiting a local art gallery for some inspiration.
There are a variety of different creative outlets that you can venture into on your self-care day. Do something avnd if you’re up for it, you could dabble in something you’ve never tried before.
- Go for a walk
If you’re feeling a bit more active this may be the perfect activity for you. Explore nearby parks, walking trails and even just venture out in your neighbourhood, you might even end up finding a new secret spot, you’ve never known about.
